Instruments
Amadinda
This instrument is based on the Ugandan amadinda which is closely related to the xylophone. Traditionally these are tuned to the pentatonic scale, but it can also be done with a major scale, as is this one pictured. The tone is a beautiful low ‘thunk,’ with many natural harmonics.

Aluminum Chimes
Much like the chimes you would hear from the percussion section of a symphonic orchestra, these chimes have a bright attack and then fade away with a long sustained note. Made of thick brushed aluminum, these chimes are a sturdy, shining addition to your playscape.

Batonka
The batonka is an instrument referred to as an aerophone. The player strikes the open end of the tube, which pushes all of the air inside the tube out very quickly, producing a tone. Children love this instrument because of the strange sound it makes and also because it is tuned pentatonically, which makes any combination sound great! It is also a large, impressive structure soaring 8 feet or more into the air!

Cymbal Wall
The cymbal wall is another favorite because of its great payoff! It doesn’t take much to produce sound from these professional cymbals, especially with a wooden mallet in your hands! This is by far our loudest instrument as you might imagine, but also one of our most aesthetically pleasing with it’s large brass circles and dark wood frame.

Box Drum
The box drums are based on an instrument called a cajon, which originated in Peru and Cuba where African slaves would use old shipping crates as drums to play traditional music. Ours is made mostly of wood but with a sheet of super durable Lexan used as the striking surface. Its meant to be used as a hand drum, but its tough enough for children to bang on it with virtually anything!

Cajones
These are a variation of the above drums, but are more like the traditional instrument. Cajones can be placed on the ground and sat on like stools while the strike plate (darker wood in the front) is slapped to make the drum sound.

Tongue Drum
This drum is from a family known as slit drums and is modeled after traditional drums from many parts of the world. This one has four 'tongues' of differing lengths cut out from the front to produce different tones when struck in the center. The box becomes a resonating chamber with a port located directly above the player's head for optimum sound. We can also fashion these to sit horizontal on the ground and serve as a bench as well.

Small Batonka
A smaller version of the batonka above, it is lower and has smaller diameter pipes on it making it more accessible for toddlers.

Copper Chime Wave
A smaller version of our aluminum chimes, these copper pipes can be played with anything lying around such as a stick or other common playground implements, but also can be swung together to make a cascading tonal effect. The copper pipes will also oxidize eventually adding to it's aesthetic and the frame can also vary based on your taste.
